South Hill Ithaca Pollution (SHIP)
Toxic Chemical Database

This page provides some ways of looking at the data from testing done in the neighborhood of the Emerson Power site in Ithaca, NY, to characterize the extent of a known release of trichloroethene (TCE) from that site. It's provided on behalf of SHIP, a loose group of neighbors and other interested parties organized around an e-mail list and web site maintained at Yahoo! Groups. Please see that site (registration required) for detailed background information on these tests, why they were done, what they may mean, and what's going to happen next.

Some of the data here are from publicly-available sources. The most up-to-date results are usually those contributed by property owners, as owners receive results long before they are put in the public archive. If you own a property that was tested and you have the results, please consider submitting them (e-mail for instructions). Sharing our test results helps us all understand the scope of the problem faster.

Finally, a general disclaimer: All government limits and guidelines listed here were collected from various web sites, and conversions and comparisons are being performed by me (Timothy Weber) or by other members of the SHIP group. If you find an error, please let me know and I'll correct it.
